SPATIAL

Augmented & Mixed Reality

Our experience of the physical and digital worlds are merging in completely new ways.

As the layers of the technological landscape merge with the more traditional tangible world around us, combining computer vision, and AI, we're try to imagine what new realities this will bring. And work actively with brands and organizations to think actively about what this means for them. Here's a selection of recent projects.

We built a realtime language translator powered by AI, as an in-house experiment. This lens allows anyone to practise their vocabulary in a new language as they go about their day, just point your phone at random objects in the world around you to explore.

Sound Shapes is a unique musical tool we built to explore how audio loops can be used to create spatial soundscapes. It allows you to record a series of short musical or vocal sounds, which become visible as shapes which you can then arrange around your room, creating a spatial soundscape which is anchored in the real world.

Breakwater is a futuristic drama set in a world of climate refugees, that premiered on Snap Originals. In the dangerous coastal slums outside Los Angeles, a savvy 20-year-old fixer must race against an impending hurricane to complete a mission for survival. We created one AR experience for every episode of Season 1 of Breakwater, each one extending the narrative and world building of that episode and the show’s characters.

Scan Band is a unique AR experience, which reads your environment and assigns musical loops to objects it can recognise. Using machine learning, it can identify over 500 object types, such as cars, plants, foods, clothes, etc. simply by pointing your camera around you wherever you are. The result is a world you can literally play music in, a world full of surprises.
