Playing Pool in MR
By layering real-time guidance directly onto your pool table using the Snap Spectacles, we provide an immersive learning experience that goes beyond the traditional way of playing. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, our app helps you improve your skills with step-by-step guidance and interactive practice scenarios.
With Spectacles, we bring a new level of understanding to your pool game. After measuring your pool table, you gain access to a library of scenarios to practice from common shots to tricky trick shots. The app even guides you on your stance, giving you the tools to refine your technique and master the game. It's like having a personal coach in your glasses.
We’ve incorporated AI to create a scene-understanding mechanic that helps you make the right choices during your game. The app analyzes your surroundings and provides advice on your next shot, ensuring that you’re always playing with a strategy in mind. It’s like having an intelligent assistant that gets better the more you play, giving you a deeper understanding of the game.
Pool is the perfect sport for mixed reality glasses, thanks to its predictable nature. The consistent elements of the game—turn-based play, a standardized table, and balls—complement the strengths of wearable AR. Plus, with social sharing features, you can show off your progress and challenge friends with new tricks or mini-games, like augmented Tic-Tac-Toe, right on the pool table.
We're currently looking to port Pool Assist to other wearable devices. We'd love for you to join us on this project.
